Nade

Geography
Nade is the flat, wide, low breadbasket of the Core Islands, covered in farmland, grassland, and a profusion of small settlements. Nade City is situated near the center of the Island, and it and Anvard City and the Citadel of Barakeel are by far the largest habitations of humans in the Islands.
People and Culture
The majority of the farmers of Nade are descended from original Rathi settlers or from Anvardi Clannless from the diaspora. The Rathi maintain an ethnic identity, but after so many generations the Clannless consider themselves Nadites. The original Rathi settlers were more welcoming of newcomers and settlers from elsewhere and have shown themselves to be considerably more progressive than the Uldans of Vaaris, as well as most of their cousins back on Rath. Today most Core Islands have settlements in the farmlands and enclaves in the huge mass of Nade City, with the exception of the Uldans. Even modern Uldans consider the Island cursed and damned, and do not comfortably set foot on Nade. The Zelixans maintain a small insular compound near the Traverton to accommodate Zelixans who have to travel, and those that do most frequently come to Nade. Mehujaelite dropper settlements are situated on the leading and trailing edges, and even some Anvardi Clans maintain small farmsteads on Nade as a hedge against drought/famine/disaster on Anvard. It is arguably the largest mixing pot of peoples in all the Islands, creating both a tolerance of diversity and increased urban tensions.
Local Authority
The laws and rule of Nade are a complicated patchwork of jurisdictions from all Cradle Islands except Uld. By and large, settlements and even neighborhoods within Nade City have separate authorities, laws, and peacekeepers. A loose organization known as the Island Conclave mediates the mess this creates, and they occupy a large building in the center of Nade City near the Gate.
Language
Travit and a mixture of native Cradle tongues.
Traverton
The Gate and Traverton are within Nade City, a chaotic mix of styles and neighborhoods housing enclaves from most Core Islands including the largest Baraki settlement outside of Barakeel and the largest Rathi settlement outside of Rath. The Arcanists maintain a huge monolithic compound in the Baraki section.
Travel around the Island is easy on a network of well-maintained roads, and areas that are off limits to visitors are well marked.
The Nade House of the Alshekal
The Anvardi Hotelier Clan representative who hands over the keys lets the new inhabitants know that they also provide meal service, delivered or cooked in the house, and messaging service in Nade City. A "butler" will drop by at the same time every day to check ion their needs.
The house is a three story, square, secure (no windows on the 1st or 2nd story, only two doors and a rooftop hatch) building comfortably outfitted with solid but not luxurious furniture.
The first floor is taken up by a front receiving room, a long dining hall, kitchens (which appear to be well stocked in several kinds of booze, but no food), and a small study.
The second floor contains a straight up vault in the middle of the floorplan, which requires both keys and an Alshekal coin to open. The exterior rooms are all living quarters.
The 3rd and top floor contains a small sparring space and armory (miscellaneous weapons and light armor in various stages of repair), a library (scrolls and books in disorganized cluttered shelves), what Ramach would vaguely recognize as a generic wizard's workshop (work benches, glassware, protective arcane symbols scratched in the slightly blackened walls), and lastly the most well-appointed room in the house containing a table made of an oversized zeywood (surface tree) slab, five cushioned and comfortable chairs, and maps of the Core Islands painted on the walls.
A hatch on the third floor leads to a little rooftop garden, its plants well withered from sun and neglect.
